The Borno State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Comrade Mohammed Adamu Jiya has lauded the military for restoring peace and normalcy in the state and the entire North East region.

He said this has enabled the reopening of the NYSC Orientation Camp in the state which closed 13 years ago due to security concerns.

Jiya who visited the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Gold Chibuisi, thanked officers and soldiers for their doggedness in restoring peace in the state.

The coordinator stated that the reopening of the orientation camp is evident that adequate peace and normalcy had returned to the ‘once most insecure region’ in Nigeria.

He thanked the commander for deploying adequate security personnel to the orientation camp and environs, and solicited for more synergy between the Theatre and NYSC.

Meanwhile, Corps members serving in various military formations and facilities within the Theatre’s Area of responsibility in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, have also lauded the feat attained through the efforts of the military.

The corps members who paid a courtesy visit to the Theatre Commander, said before now, Corps members posted to Borno State go to Katsina State for their Orientation.

Speaking during the visit, Chibuisi stated that OPHK remained committed to ensuring that people go about their daily activities without fear or threat.

He assured that the military would continue its support to the NYSC, and encouraged corps members to give the nation their best during their service year and leave a legacy wherever they are deployed for their primary assignment.

Chibuisi charged them to be innovative and committed to adding value to their lives and the nation at large.
