By Ali Baba-Inuwa
The Arewa Indigenous Obidients Forum (AIOF), a political pressure group, says it is working toward mobilising Nigerians to elect Mr Peter Obi, as the country’s president in the 2027 poll.
Mr Alkasim Auwal, the Coordinator- General, AIOF, stated this at a news conference to mark Obi’s 63rd birthday on Friday in Kano.
“Today is historic as it marks the birthday of a promising Nigerian, one who has embedded outstanding records in business and service to the people.
“We gather here today to celebrate Mr Peter Gregory Obi’s birthday,” Auwal said.
He said that it was unfortunate that the 2023 presidential election was rigged in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“We are as guilty as many of our compatriots in contributing to the misrule and hunger that we are witnessing in Nigeria today. We see an administration that has no idea of moving the country forward.
“We express the forum’s determination to work tirelessly toward creating a better future for Nigeria under the leadership of Mr Peter Obi, we want to emphasis the need for unity, cooperation and collective action in support of a candidate who embodies the values of integrity, competence and inclusivity.
“The Arewa Indigenous Obidients Forum invites all well meaning Nigerians to join hands in this noble cause of supporting Peter Obi’s presidential bid and building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for all citizens.
“Together, we can work together toward a brighter future and a more united country,” Auwal said. Ends
