Protesters Loot Agric, Fertilizer Stores, Set APC Secretariat Ablaze in Jigawa

No fewer than 10 people were reportedly injured during the protest against bad governance in Jigawa.
The Syndicate reports that some of the protesters vandalised public properties, looted stores containing fertilizer and agricultural inputs, as well as set ablaze, the State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Dutse, the state capital.
In an unprecedented situation in the history of the state, the protest took place in over ten major town across with report of destruction and looting of government property.
The police and other security agencies had to use teargas to disperse protesters.
Report from Hadejia confirmed that four people were admitted in hospital as a result of injuries and suffocation they suffered from heavy teargas shot at them by Anti- riot police, while Agricultural Supply stores were looted in the area.
In Gumel, the store of state Agricultural Supply Company, the residence the House of Representatives member for Gumel, Gagarawa and Maigarati, and that of the APC Zonal vice chairman were vandalized and looted.
A woman among the protesters was injured in mayhem and rushed to Gumel General hospital for treatment.
In Birnin Kudu, state government fertilizer and grains stores were looted by the protesters who blocked all major roads in the town, including the Kano-Maiduguri Highway.
In Dutse, five people who were injured were taken to Rasheed Shekoni general hospital, but security have succeeded in blocking the protesters from vandalizing public properties, with the exception of the APC state secreteriet which was burnt down.
Similarly in Jahun, Kazaure, and Shuwarin, the protesters took to the street calling for an end to bad governance.
