PSC Promotes 775 Senior Police Officers

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the promotion of 775 senior police officers including Mohammed Usman Gumel who was elevated to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police.
In a statement on Thursday, the PSC said Gumel was Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Community Policing, Research and Planning before his elevation.
Also promoted were seven Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police. They are Ihebom Chukwuma, Maxwell Olatokunbo, Abaniwonda Olufemi, Alonyenu Francis Idu, Lawal B. Ayodeji, Agene Emmanuel, and Vungmoh S.M Kwaimo.
In the same vain, the PSC has elevated thirteen Deputy Commissioners of Police to the rank of Commissioners.
The new Commissioners are Babalola Ayodeji Johnson, Ali Umar Fage, Cyril Uche Obiozo, Adepegba K. Adetoye, Tabitha Bako, Ofem Ikpi Arikpo, Edwin Ogbeghagha, Audu Garba Bosso, Samuel Yerima Gimba, Alhaji Mohammed Danladi, Richard Bala Gara, Lasisi Adekunle Titilola, and John Obiuagbaka.
The PSC also promoted thirty Assistant Commissioners of Police to the rank of Deputy Commissioners; fifty one Chief Superintendents of Police to Assistant Commissioners; and five hundred and forty two Superintendents of Police to the rank of Chief Superintendents.
A total of one hundred and nineteen Deputy Superintendent of Police also benefited from the promotion, becoming Superintendent of Police while twelve Assistant Superintendent of Police were promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendents of Police.
