Jigawa state governor Malam Umar Namadi has decried the poor quality of food served under the Ramadan free feeding programme in Dutse Local Government Area and vowed to deal with those handling the programme in the area.
The governor who undertook unscheduled visits to cooking and distribution centers in Dundubu, Karniya, Limawa and Kachi wards, expressed disappointment with the quality and quantity of the food, and the lateness it was served instead of during the breaking of the Ramadan fast.
This is unacceptable, he said, and warned supervising commissioner, Auwalu Danladi Sankara and centers supervisors to live up to expectations or face the consequences.
The Syndicate reports that Governor Namadi had approved N4.8 billion to provide free food for the breaking of the Ramadan fast across the state.
