Reps member empowers 112 youths in Bakori/Ɗanja Federal Constituency
The House of Representative member for Bakori/Ɗanja Federal Constituency, Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, has trained and empowered 112 local youths to be self-reliant.
The initiative, which was part of his constituency project, was undertaken in collaboration with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, and BNP Resources Limited.
Alongside the training, each participant received a startup grant for Small and Medium Enterprises of their choice.
The training focused on Digital Transformation and Online Journalism Skills for Social Media Users.
In his remarks, Dabai encouraged the beneficiaries to leverage the skills they acquired to be self-reliant. He particularly advised social media users to apply their skills responsibly, emphasizing that he has additional empowerment programmes planned for the constituents.
The lawmaker said the construction of six classrooms is currently ongoing as part of his constituency projects, while a medical outreach has been conducted in the constituency.
Dabai explained that the medical outreach was to conduct surgery on those with hernia cases, which was successfully concluded, while a comprehensive eye screening exercise will be conducted during which those with cataract would undergo surgical treatment.
The Reps member also said he had provided scholarship to students and distributed fertilizer to farmers in furtherance of his commitment to community welfare.
