Sheikh Gumi Teases ‘Haters’, Denies Fleeing To Turkey
Kaduna based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi has returned to Nigeria, dismissing reports that he fled to Turkey to evade arrest by the United States government.
In a statement shared on his social media page, Sheikh Gumi said:
“My sincere apology to haters. A sad news for them. I am back to Nigeria my beloved country, a country of free speech and freedom of religion, hearty and healthy. Thanks to Allah the Almighty. May Allah protect the whole nation from evil minds. Amin!”
The cleric’s statement followed widespread speculations on social media that he had left the country amid alleged pressure from security agencies.
Gumi dismissed the claims as false, reaffirming his loyalty to Nigeria and expressing gratitude for his safe return.
