Speaker Kano Assembly, 21 others resign from NNPP

The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Alhaji Jibril Ismail Falgore,and 21 other members of the House, have resigned their membership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP).

The lawmakers resigned their membership of the party alongside Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The House Chief Press Secretary, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, said this in a statement in Kano, saying that those who left the NNPP with the governor included the Speaker, Jibril Ismail Falgore, the Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Bello Butu Butu, and the Majority Leader, Lawan Hussain.

Also listed the Deputy Majority Leader, Garba Shehu Fammar, the Chief Whip, Muddasir Ibrahim Zawachiki, along with other lawmakers representing various constituencies across the state.
He said that a total of 22 members of the House were involved in the exit, cutting across constituencies such as Ajingi, Albasu, Bagwai/Shanono, Bebeji, Bunkure, Dawakin Kudu, Fagge, Gabasawa, Garko, Gwale, Karaye, Kura/Garun Malam, Madobi, Minjibir, Rano, Tarauni and Wudil.

“A total of 22 members of the House of Assembly resigned their membership from the NNPP in the state,” he said, adding that the house had verified and authenticated the list of the lawmakers.
