Tinubu Donates Two Trucks of Rice to Christians in Jigawa

The Jigawa State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has confirned receipt of two trucks of rice from the Federal Government for distribution to faithful during the Christmas celebration.
The state CAN Chairman Very Rev. Fr. Maurice Koli Hassan, made this known in a statement on Friday.
The association commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the gesture and the sustained efforts at improving national security.
It said the rice intervention was a practical demonstration of national unity, inclusiveness and justice.
“On behalf of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Jigawa State chapter, and the entire Christian community in the state, I sincerely express our profound gratitude to His Excellency, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his tireless, seasoned and unflinching support to the Christian community,” the statement read.
The CAN leadership said, “The enhanced security measures put in place by the Federal Government under President Tinubu resulted in a peaceful, orderly and crime-free Christmas celebration in Jigawa State and other parts of the country.”
It assured that the rice was equitably distributed to Christian faithful across the state ahead of the Christmas festivities.
According to him, the Christmas season is a period of love, peace and sharing.
“We pray that God grants Mr President good health, wisdom and strength to continue steering the affairs of the nation towards a better Nigeria.”
The association also expressed appreciation to Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi, for his support and goodwill to the Christian community, describing him as a father to all residents irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
“He has continued to promote peace, tolerance and unity, which have made Jigawa one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria. May God preserve and reward him for his commitment to good governance and harmony among indigenes and non-indigenes.”
The CAN also acknowledged the “timely and compassionate” philanthropic gesture of Hajiya Halima Suleiman Zakari, who donated 50 bags of 50kg rice to Christian widows in her constituency.
“Her kindness has brought smiles to the faces of widows during the festive season. We pray that God blesses and rewards her abundantly,” the association added
