Troops Neutralise IED, Intercept 1,400 Rounds of Ammunition in Borno, Plateau
Troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have neutralised an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted along Damboa–Komala road in Borno State.
The IED planted by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists was discovered and neutralised by troops of 25 Brigade on December 17.
In a separate operation, troops at a checkpoint along the Maiduguri–Bama road have intercepted a Lagos-registered vehicle with plate number AKD 244 YE on 19 December 202, conveying large quantities of food items and energy drinks.
The items are suspected to be for Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists operating around Kirawa Ward, Gwoza Local Government Area. Two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.
In Plateau State, troops of 3 Division and the Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, on December 19, conducted multiple intelligence-led operations which to the recovery of weapons and ammunition and the arrest of a suspect.
The troops in the early hours of 19 December 2025, raided the hideout of suspected criminal elements at Gwender Village in Bokkos Local Government Area, which led to the recovery of one fabricated AK-47 rifle with a magazine, a fabricated pistol, and several rounds of ammunition.
In a related development, troops in collaboration with an intelligence agency tactical team, acting on credible intelligence, established a snap checkpoint at Mairana in Mangu LGA, during which an individual was intercepted in possession of 2 boxes of ammunition containing a total of 1,400 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition.
