Two Times PDP MHR Candidate, Gambo Gujungu, Defects to APC in Jigawa

A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the House of Representatives in Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency, Jigawa State, Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Gujungu officially announced his defection at a well-attended ceremony held in his hometown of Gujungu, Taura Local Government Area of the state.
Receiving the decampee on behalf of Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as the effective implementation of people-oriented policies under the APC-led administration.
Governor Namadi noted that the policies of the APC at the federal level were already translating into economic growth and improved welfare for Nigerians, stressing that Jigawa State has aligned with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for accelerated development.
The representative of the governor formally welcomed Gujungu into the APC fold, describing the defection as a major boost to the party’s strength in Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency.
He recalled that Gujungu was a key figure in the PDP and had contested the House of Representatives seat for the federal constituency in the 2019 and 2023 elections.
Speaking at the event, Gujungu said his decision to join the APC was driven by his desire to contribute to the developmental strides being recorded by the APC-led governments at both the state and federal levels.
According to him, the leadership style and development-focused policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi inspired his decision to return to the APC in the interest of his constituents.
The defection ceremony attracted top government officials, party leaders, local government chairmen, and other prominent stakeholders from across Jigawa State.
