Zahra Buhari Drags Barcelona Legends To Abuja For Charity Match October 25

A star-studded charity match between former players of Barcelona Football Club and a select squad of African legends will be played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on October 25.

Zahra Buhari, daughter of late President Muhammadu Buhari is putting together the charity football match in partnership with Attom Foundation.

Proceeds from the charity match will support ZMB Homes Foundation, a charity that has long provided shelter and assistance to widows and orphans across the country.

Zahra described the initiative as a “unique fusion of sport, charity, and continental friendship” aimed at funding youth empowerment, maternal health, and education for underprivileged communities.

“This event is not just about football; it is about using the universal language of the game to unite people and bring hope to communities that need it most,” she said, and urged Nigerians to turn out in large numbers to support the cause.

Zahra said she was inspired by her late father whose journey in life began from humble beginning to the pinnacle of national leadership.

“Baba came from a modest background but rose to achieve so much for Nigeria. I’m committed to helping many more people with similar backgrounds realize their potential, just as my father did.”

Beyond the match, the occasion will spearhead broader social impact programmes, including a gala night, youth football clinics, and visits to selected schools and hospitals.
