Tinubu Deserves Second Term to Sustain Nigeria’s Development — Baba-Wali
From Muhammad Maitela, Damaturu
The Yobe State APC governorship candidate, Baba Mallam Wali (BMW), has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general elections, arguing that his administration deserves a second term to consolidate its reforms and development initiatives.
Wali made the appeal on Sunday during consultations with traditional institutions, at Ngelzarma Emirate Palace, Fune LGA of Yobe state, as part of his visits to 13 of the state’s 14 emirate councils.
He said the Tinubu administration had demonstrated a strong commitment to national development, economic recovery, infrastructure, security and the welfare of Nigerians.
“We have consistently informed the people that Mr President has performed well, and we have urged them to support his re-election in the 2027 general election,” he said.
According to him, continuity is necessary to enable the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to complete ongoing programmes and projects and deliver sustainable results.
“We must not allow the progress already achieved to be disrupted. By voting for Tinubu, the people will be supporting continuity, stability and the completion of programmes and projects that are already benefiting communities across the country,” Wali said.
He said his consultations across the 13 emirate councils had received encouraging support from traditional rulers, community leaders and residents.
“We were warmly received across the emirates. The level of acceptance and support we witnessed was remarkable and unprecedented in the history of the state,” he said.
Wali said the visits provided an opportunity to engage directly with traditional institutions, listen to their concerns and expectations, and receive their guidance on issues affecting the state.
He also commended traditional rulers for their role in maintaining peace, promoting dialogue and supporting development initiatives, particularly efforts to address security challenges.
The APC candidate added that he encountered no resistance or negative sentiments regarding President Tinubu’s candidacy during the consultations.
Wali urged Nigerians to remain patient with the Federal Government’s reforms, stressing that continuity was essential to achieving sustainable development.
