Gashua federal varsity sets up modern chicks incubator

The Federal University Gashua (FUGA) in Yobe State has set up a modern chicks incubator to advance the traing of students and research into poultry farming.
A statement signed by Adamu Saleh, the Head of Information and Protocol of the University, and made available to The Syndicate in Damaturu, indicated that the state-of-the-art incubator would significantly enhance hands-on training, cutting-edge research, and agricultural productivity.
“The incubator is already yielding tangible results, with dedicated staff working tirelessly to hatch chicks.
“This development underscores the University’s unwavering commitment to advancing agricultural science, equipping students with practical knowledge, and contributing meaningfully to national food security.”
According to the statement, this is an attestation to the visionary leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Maimuna Waziri, whose strategic direction continues to position FUGA as a center of academic excellence and innovation in agriculture.
It quoted the Head of the Department of Animal Science, Dr. Lawan Adamu, as explaining that the hatching machine was procured earlier by former Vice Chancellor, Professor Andrew Haruna for the department’s accreditation, but was left unutilised until now.
