16th Emir of Gumel, Ahmad Muhammad Sani, passes on @87 in Egypt

The 16th Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Sani, has died after a protected illness in Cairo, Egypt.

Malam Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the Jigawa State government stated this in a statement on Thursday in Dutse.

“The Jigawa State government regrets to announce with profound sorrow the passing of His Highness, the Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Sani, CON.

“Born on 12th of December 1942,the revered monarch passed on this afternoon in Cairo, Egypt after a protected illness.
“Throughout his remarkable reign of 46years His Highness who ascended the throne in 1980 dedicated his life to the service and betterment of his people.

“The 16th Emir of Gumel was a beacon of wisdom, offering invaluable counsel and tirelessly working towards improving health outcomes, increasing school enrollment and fostering peace and security across the state,” he said.

He extended the state government condolences to the Royal family and the entire people of the state.

“The Jigawa State government extends its deepest condolences to the Royal family, the people of Gumel Emirate , the state Council of Chiefs and the people in the state during this period of immense grief.

“Details regarding the funeral arrangement will be announced by the Emir Palace.

“May Allah forgive his sins, accept his good deeds and grant him Al Jannatul Firdausi,” he said.
