5 Notorious Bandit Leaders Surrender In Katsina State
Five notorious bandit leaders have surrendered amidst massive onslaught by Nigerian security forces against terrorists in the North West region of Nigeria.
Those who surrendered had held sway in Batsari, Safana and Jibia local government areas of Katsina State, displacing communities and abducting and killing many. They were also involved in massive theft of livestock in the area.
The terrorists who surrender include Abu Radda, Umar Black, Abdullahi Lankai, Jijjige, and the leader of Dabar Musa Dan Gandu, all operating in Jibia axis.
Intelligence sources said more terrorists are expected to lay down their arms as the military maintain sustained onslaught against all armed groups in the region.
Reports say the terrorists requested government to provide them with alternative means of livelihood, and access to markets, hospitals, and clean water.
Reports say the National Community for Security and Societal Advancement in Katsina State, headed by Comrade Hamisu S. Batsari, facilitated the surrender of the armed groups.
The Syndicate gathered that the terrorists handed over their weapons to the military and released several hostages.
Military authorities welcomed the surrender but said it won’t affect the ongoing massive operations in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, and other parts of the region until there’s full restoration of peace and security in the affected states.
