Prepare To Kick Out APC In 2027, Lamido Tells Youth

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State, Mustapha Sule Lamido says youth in the country should mobilise effectively to kick out the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in 2027.
According to him, the current bad policies of the administration of President Bola Tinubu are enough for the youth and other Nigerians to vote them out of power.
Lamido, who was PDP’s 2023 governorship candidate in Jigawa, said Nigerians have been facing unprecedented excruciating poverty, unemployment, and hardship since the APC took over the affairs of the country in 2015.
“It is time to send them packing, time to vote them out and end the current bad policies that are increasing joblessness and poverty among Nigerians,” he told a crowd of PDP supporters in Birninkudu.
“Jigawa State and Nigeria need leaders who are credible, visionary, and committed to economic transformation not palliative induced bad policies of the present APC government.
“Since 2015 when APC has been in charge, the country has been in crisis, and the younger generation must wake up and chart a new course.”
The PDP chieftain also criticised the APC administration’s over-reliance on palliatives, arguing that such measures are short-term fixes that worsen economic instability.
“Palliatives are harmful to our economy. The government cannot keep diverting public funds to distribute relief items instead of investing in real economic growth. Importation-driven policies will not develop the country”.
According to him, the current economic hardship in Nigeria would have been avoided had voters heeded PDP’s warnings during the 2023 elections.
“With the current situation in, Nigerians are in urgent need of policies and programmes that would empowers people by improving their sources of income not depleting the little they have through rise in cost of power, and telecom.
“People need empowerment programmes that would make them self reliant not the present economic struggle that is making people more dependent rather than productive. This dangerous.”
Lamido recalled his campaign warnings, stressing that PDP foresaw the consequences of another APC-led government with no vision and commitment to build a prosperous Nigeria
“We cautioned voters in 2023 that APC does not prioritize national development or the welfare of its citizens. Now, look at where we are— rising poverty, high unemployment, and a broken economy. The suffering we see today is exactly what we predicted.
“I’m reminding and calling on Nigerians, particularly the youth, to learn from past mistakes and make informed choices in the 2027 elections.”
