Philanthropist Empowers Over 100 Dry Season Farmers In Jigawa

A philanthropist in Birninkudu local government area of Jigawa state, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Kantoga has empowered over 100 irrigation farmers in the area.
Alhaji Adamu Kantoga also donated balls and Jerseys to some football clubs in the area.
In appreciation of the gesture, the Village Head of Kantoga, Malam Isah Aliyu announced the upgrade of the traditional title of Alhaji Adamu from Chiroman Kantoga to Garkuwan Kantoga.
He said that the community, comprising Kantoga, Unguwar ‘Ya and Yawandamai, deeply appreciate Adamu’s unflinching commitment to the service to the people.
“The people of this area were proud of the new Garkuwa because of his selfless service which is transforming the social and economic lives of the our people. Without fear of contradiction, I’m bold to say there’s no family in this area that has not benefiting from the gesture and kindness of Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Kantoga.
“This gentleman has empowered over 100 youths with capital to starts or improve their businesses, some were trained on some skills to be self reliant,” the village head said.
Malam Isah said, this is in addition to yearly support for both irrigation and rainy season farmers, who receive farming implements and inputs.
“The new Garkuwa did not stop there, he is also giving a lot of support in sports activities by donating balls and jerseys to dozens of football clubs, and organise football competitions.
In his remarks, Alhaji Adamu said during the finals of a football match organised in his honour, that he would continue to contribute to the development of the community.
“The aim of the competition is to bring unity and love among the people in the area and particularly youth whom are future leaders. If their capacity is well and positively built, there is hope of a good future of the community”.
He thanked the village head for finding him worthy of the traditional title of Garkuwan Kantoga.
In his speech, the Chairman Birnin kudu Local Government Council, Dr. Muhammad Uba, commended the philanthropist for being a pillar of support, and the development of the area, and urged him not to relent.
