Yilwatda replaces Ganduje As New APC National Chairman

 

 

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda has emerged as the new national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was elected unanimously by the National Executive Committee of the party on Thursday. Yilwatda replaces Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who resigned on personal grounds.

Yilwatda, from Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State was a lecturer at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, where he served as pioneer Director of ICT, and was variously honoured as Best Staff of the Year and Best Director of the Year.

In 2017, he was appointed Resident Electoral Commissioner with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), but stepped down in 2021 to pursue public service through elective office.

He contested as the Plateau State gubernatorial candidate under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023, where he lost to the incumbent governor.
