Jigawa Commissioner Supports 250 Small Scale Business Owners With N50m

The Commissioner of Special Duties and Humanitarian Affairs in Jigawa State, Auwalu Danladi Sankara, has distributed N50 million to support 250 local businesses in Ringim local government area of the state.

The Syndicate reports that the event, held in Ringim on Monday, was witnessed by Governor Umar Namadi.

Namadi hailed the initiative saying it would impact the local economy and was a testament to Sankara’s concern for the common man.

“It is really commendable and worthy of emulation,” he added, and said the gesture would complement government efforts on job creation.

In his remarks, Sankara said that the money each of the beneficiaries got N200, 000 to expand their businesses.

He explained that 25 people were selected from each of the 10 political wards in the local government area.

“This is just one among many that has been done unannounced and no ceremony. Our aim is to take people out of poverty and be self reliant in both rural and urban areas.”
