Students from seven Nigerian universities on Thursday in Kano featured at the maiden Students’ Local Solutions Exhibition, organized by the Tech Innovators and Solutions Networking Initiative (TISNI).

The event, held at the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano,  provided an opportunity for selected final-year students of the universities to present their innovative project ideas before industry experts and stakeholders.

TISNI Team Lead, Mrs. Aisha Kwaku, said in her remarks at the occasion that the expo was about changing the mindset for students to enable to start thinking about what they wanted to do after leaving school.

She named the participating institutions as MAAUN Kano, Skyline University, Bayero University Kano, Northwest University Kano, Federal University Dutse, Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, and Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto.

Kwaku said that the best-performing student innovators would receive awards and cash prizes ranging from ₦150,000 to ₦500,000, based on the quality, creativity, and market potential of their projects.
