Police Arrest 14 Sara-suka Armed Street Gang Members In Bauchi

Police have arrested 14 members of the Sara-suka armed street gang members attacking and robbing members of the public in Bauchi.

A statement issued on Sunday by the Bauchi State Police Command spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, said the suspects were arrested on January 15 while attacking residents of Bakaro, Kofar Dumi, Tudun Yarima and Kofar Madaki in the metropolis.

He said that on receiving an intelligence report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of ‘A’ Division Bauchi, CSP Hassan A. Musa led a team and swiftly swung into action, identified and arrested the suspects.

The command spokesperson listed those arrested as Abbati, Mamman, Adamu, Khalid, Abubakar, Mahmood, Jabir, Haruna, Khalid, Abubakar, Kabiru, Anas, Mohammed, and Abdulkarim, all aged between 17 and 22 years.

“During interrogation, the suspects freely confessed to having criminally conspired among themselves, armed with dangerous weapons such as Machetes, sharp knives, and the likes, storm the aforementioned areas and violently attacked and beat up innocent citizens, dispossessed them of their valuables such as phones and money and inflicted injuries to anyone who resist to surrender their valuables.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu appreciates the continuous cooperation and support from the members of the public and encouraged all to be vigilant.”
