Tinubu campaign chief receives awards in Jigawa

The Deputy Director General, North, Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Engr. Magaji Da’u Aliyu, has received two awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to community development and education in Birnin Kudu, Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The awards were separately conferred on the former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Power, by the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) and the Centre for Qur’anic Promotion and Reciters, in Birnin Kudu.
Speaking with journalists shortly after receiving the NUT award, the former lawmaker who represented Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency, expressed gratitude to the union, saying the award would push him to do more for the community.
“I am sincerely grateful for this honour. What we are doing is simply our modest contribution to development and the upliftment of our people, which we consider a responsibility,” he said.
Engr. Da’u Aliyu commended Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, for prioritising education through improved funding, timely release of resources, and strategic investments in manpower and infrastructure across the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of NUT in Birnin Kudu LGA, Alhaji Musa Muhammad, said the award ceremony was organised to recognise individuals and organisations that have made remarkable contributions to education in the area.
Muhammad said that Engr. Da’u Aliyu was selected strictly on merit, citing his consistent support for teaching and learning, teachers’ welfare, youth development, and sponsorship of students from the area in colleges of education.
In his remarks, the District Head of Birnin Kudu, Alhaji Husain Hassan Jibrin, urged the NUT to strengthen monitoring and inspection mechanisms to ensure regular school attendance as part of efforts to raise educational standard in the area.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Muryar Birnin Kudu, Alhaji Ahmad Sa’id Kangire, announced that the association would soon inaugurate a committee to oversee the transparent disbursement of educational donations made during its Annual General Meeting to address pressing educational needs in the community.
Meanwhile, the Centre for Qur’anic Promotion and Reciters, which also honoured the former Reps member, said the recognition followed his constructions of Islamiyya Schools and Mosques in many parts of the state and country at large.
The chairman of Centre, Gwani Yusif Hamza Yusif said people like Engr. Da’u Aliyu are few in terms of rendering supports to Islam and Muslims.
He said apart from constructing Islamiyya schools and Mosques, he also provides teaching and learning materials for the schools.
