FRSC deploys 439 personnel, 120 Special Marshals to ensure hitch free Sallah in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has deployed 439 personnel and 120 Special Marshals across the State to ensure hitch free Sallah celebrations.
Yahaya Ibrahim Yahaya, Chief Route Commander and spokesperson for the Command stated this in a statement in Dutse.
Yahaya added that the command had also deployed eight patrol vehicles and four Ambulances for Rescue services across the state.
He said that the command had also commenced the year 2026 Eid-El-Fitr Special Patrol starting from 17th March, 2026 to 22nd March, 2026. This is paramount due to the high volume of human and vehicular movement from one destination to another for Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.
“The Federal Road Safety Corps Jigawa State Command has announced the commencement of the year 2026 Eid-El-Fitr Special Patrol starting from 17th March, 2026 to 22nd March, 2026. This is paramount due to the high volume of human and vehicular movement from one destination to another for Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.
“The FRSC Jigawa under the leadership of Corps Commander, Umar Masa’udu Matazu has made arrangement to ensure a hitch free Sallah celebration in Jigawa State with free flow of vehicles.
“The Special Patrol Operations is designed to provide safer road use in the State,” he said.
Yahaya said that the command was focused on reduction in Road Traffic Crashes on highways and major roads in the State, as well as continuous and rigorous public enlightenment and enforcement of Road Traffic rules by road users.
“The command is also focused 3 prompt rescue services and response to distress calls, speedy removal of road obstructions and enforcement on critical offences such Overloading, mixed loading, overspeeding, Route violations, Use of phone while driving and many more.
“To achieve these objectives, the Command deployed a total of 439 personnel and 120 Special Marshals across the State, 08- patrol vehicles and 4- Ambulances for Rescue services.
“The Sector Commander, CC UM Matazu called on the good citizens of Jigawa to always abide by all traffic rules and regulations and reassured a hitch free Eid-El-Fitr Celebrations.
“In addition he also emphasized on the maximum enforcement on under aged driving and all sort of reckless driving in the name of celebrations which may endanger the lives and property of citizens of the State and we shall carryout aggressive enforcement including conducting of more mobile courts operations with the aim of checking the following offences.
He mentioned some of offences to include Speeding and Dangerous Driving/Overtaking, Lane indiscipline/Route violation, road obstructions, Use of Phone while Driving, overloading, Seatbelt/Child restraint Use violations, Passenger’s Manifest violation, Operation of mechanical deficient and rickety vehicles and Loading of trailers with passengers.
“The Sector Commander also wishes all citizens successful and peaceful EID-EL-FITR celebrations,” he said.
