
Eid-El-Kabir: FRSC deploys 461 personnel, 120 Special Marshals in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 461 personnel and 120 Special Marshals across the state to ensure hitch free vehicular movements during the 2026 Eid-El-Kabir.
This is contained in a statement by Yahaya Ibrahim Yahaya, Chief Route Commander, SPEO/P.R.O Jigawa on Sunday in Dutse.
Yahaya said that the command had also deployed eight patrol vehicles and four ambulances for rescue services during the celebrations.
He said that the command had already commenced Special Patrol to ensure free flow of vehicles movement across the state.
“The Federal Road Safety Corps Jigawa State Command has announced the commencement of the year 2026 Eid-El-Kabir Special Patrol starting from 25th May, 2026 to 31st May, 2026.
“This is paramount due to the high volume of human and vehicular movement from one destination to another for Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.
“The FRSC Jigawa under the leadership of Corps Commander, Umar Masa’udu Matazu has made arrangement to ensure a hitch free Sallah celebration in Jigawa State with free flow of vehicles,” Yahaya said.
He said that the Special Patrol Operations were designed to provide safer road use in the State.
“The Federal Road Safety Corps Jigawa State Command is focused on the reduction in Road Traffic Crashes on our highways and major roads in the State.
“Continuous and rigorous public enlightenment and enforcement of Road Traffic rules by road users. Prompt rescue services and response to distress calls
” Speedy removal of road obstructions. Enforcement on critical offences such Overloading, Mixed loading, Overspeeding, Route violations, Use of phone while driving and other Road traffic offences.
“To achieve these objectives, the Command deployed a total of 461 personnel and 120 Special Marshals across the State, 8- patrol vehicles, 4- Ambulances for Rescue services,” he said.
Yahaya added: “The Sector Commander, CC UM Matazu calls on the good citizens to always abide by all traffic rules and regulations and reassured a hitch free Eid-El Kabir Celebrations.
“In addition he also emphasize on the maximum enforcement on under aged driving and all sort of reckless driving in the name of celebrations which may endanger the lives and property of citizens of the State and we shall carryout aggressive enforcement including conducting of more mobile courts operations with the aim of checking the following offences;
“Speeding and Dangerous Driving/Overtaking, lane indiscipline/Route violation, road obstructions, use of Phone while driving, overloading, seatbelt/child restraint use violations and passenger’s manifest violation.
“Others are operation of mechanical deficient and rickety vehicles, loading of trailers with passengers and illegal use of the Spy Number Plates.”
“The Sector Commander, CC UM Matazu called on the good citizens to always abide by all traffic rules and regulations and reassured a hitch free Eid-El Kabir Celebrations.
“In addition he also emphasized on the maximum enforcement on under aged driving and all sort of reckless driving in the name of celebrations which may endanger the lives and property of citizens of the State and we shall carryout aggressive enforcement including conducting of more mobile courts operations with the aim of checking the following offences.
“The Sector Commander also wishes all citizens a peaceful EID-EL-KABIR celebrations.”
