Nigerians will vote out APC in 2027- Ex Jigawa deputy governor

A former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Mahmoud, says Nigerians will vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) from government in 2027, because it has done enormous damage to the country.
Mahmoud, also an aspirant for the Jigawa Northwest seat at the National Assembly, told newsmen in Dutse that the APC had lost its popularity in Nigeria.
“It is shocking that people still come out to campaign for APC inspite of the enormous damage the party has done to the country, especially the North.
“The magnitude of damage done is so much that I don’t expect anybody in his right sense to come out and campaign for the election of APC in 2027,” he said.
Mahmoud, who served as the State Deputy Governor from 2007 to 2015, said the President Bola Tinubu led APC administration had turned the country into a laughing stock with its massive external borrowings.
“Nigeria has become a laughing stock in the international community, we have become a debtor nation, we have progress from taking loans yearly to monthly, every month, the APC government must take new loans and unfortunately, we don’t even get to see where the money goes.
“No country develops by taking loans and loans, you can only mortgage the future of the country by taking more and more loans,” he said.
Mahmoud stated that the country needed to be rescued from the clinches of the APC for posterity.
“Nigeria is in bad state now, and the country needs to be rescued from those mismanaging it, by the grace of God we will be changes to the country and everyone will be happy in a short while,” he said.
Mahmoud called on Nigerians to team up with the party toward salvaging the country.
“We must work together to rescue Nigeria from the APC, by the grace of God we will bring positive change to the country. Look at how badly things have turned out in Nigeria,” he said.
Mahmoud said that he was at the ADC state Secretariat for screening as an aspirant for the Jigawa Northwest Senate seat.
“I went for screening as one of the aspirants for Jigawa NorthEast Seat at the National Assembly, election is God doing and usually, people reap what they sow, we are ready to work for the collective interest of Nigerians, right from the local level, the state and the county at large,” he said.
Mahmoud said that he was hopeful of scaling the screening as well as winning the election in 2027.
“The current Senator has done his bid, my numerous achievements as the Deputy Governor are there for people to see. People across the state have seen my efforts in bringing development to our state,” he said.
Mahmoud stated that his major focus was how to tackle the security challenge facing Nigeria.
“The issue of insecurity or security challenge is fast approaching our state, if concrete measures are not taken it will be in Jigawa soon, we went to a burial in Kano few days ago and what we encountered was horrible, we were just lucky to escape an attack my some hoodlums carrying dangerous weapons.
“We learnt that an individual was killed in the area by the hoodlums a few days ago. We don’t want that kind of scenario in Jigawa. We want to rescue Nigeria especially the North from this mess.
“We will do this by ensuring a just system where everyone has a sense of belonging in the country.
“The whole thing looks as if some people or organisations are behind the security challenge in the North, engineering the killing and destruction. It’s like some people are bent on disgracing us.
“We will put in place a just and a fair system that will stop all these.
“We are the ones suffering and inspite of these people are trying to sell APC to the people in the North for 2027 poll,” he said.
