TUC LEADERS VISIT JIGAWA SSG

The leaders of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Jigawa State Council, has visited the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim.

During the visit, the Chairman of TUC, Jigawa State Council, Comrade Ali Sa’adu Dutse, formally introduced the new TUC leadership to the SSG.

The Chairman praised Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi for his purposeful and worker-centered leadership since taking office in 2023.

The Chairman highlighted that, over the past three years, the Governor has initiated and executed numerous developmental projects across various sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, youth empowerment, and workers’ welfare.

He noted that the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, timely payment of salaries, gratuities, and pensions, along with its emphasis on transparency, peace, and sustainable development, has garnered the trust and support of organized labor and the people of Jigawa State.

“Governor Namadi has demonstrated sincerity, commitment, and passion in serving the workers and people of Jigawa State. His visible developmental strides, especially in workers’ welfare, are commendable,” the TUC Chairman stated.

The TUC Chairman expressed confidence that the Governor’s achievements and labor-friendly policies would strengthen the partnership between the government and organized labor.

The TUC leader prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection, wisdom, and success for the Governor as he leads the state towards greater progress and development.

Responding, the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, thanked the TUC leaders for their visit.

He emphasized that the current administration has stabilized the State and Local Governments’ contributory pension scheme and maintained regular payment of salaries and pensions, while also implemented the new minimum wage across all salary structures.

He affirmed the administration’s commitment to partnering with labor unions in the state, ensuring fairness, transparency, and progress for all workers. Malam Bala Ibrahim urged workers to remain dedicated to their duties and assured them of the government’s continued support.

“We will continue to stand in solidarity with you. Together, we will build a stronger and more prosperous Jigawa,” he concluded.

During the visit, the TUC leaders was accompanied by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Industrial Relations, Comrade Ibrahim Ahmed Kwaimawa.
