Ahead of the 2027, a Group, Tinubu Must Stay (TMS), was on Tuesday, unveiled in Jigawa State towards mobilizing support for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 General Elections.Speaking at the ceremony, the Founder and National Convener, Eng. Ibrahim Said Uba, that the group plans nationwide mobilisation for the reelection of the President because he deserved a second term in office.
“We are here today, fully prepared and with a golden heart of commitment and loyalty, to brief the general public on why we believe it is time for Nigerians to appreciate the commitments and hard work of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and give him the opportunity to continue for a second term.
“We are collectively here to state clearly that, based on the commitments and ongoing projects of this administration, Nigerians should consider giving Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu a second term to continue the work of making Nigeria great.
Asiwaju has demonstrated his commitment to major capital projects across the country. Look at the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, the ongoing railway projects, and the Kano–Jigawa–Katsina–Maradi railway project, among others.
“These are projects that will have long-term economic and transportation benefits for our people. The Federal Government has also reported substantial progress on the Kano–Jigawa section of the railway project,” he said.
Uba said that the president had also brought down the prices of food items making them affordable to ordinary Nigerians.
“Nigerians should also remember the economic challenges we experienced in previous years, particularly the high cost of living and rising food prices. Ordinary millet, maize and sorghum became very expensive, while the price of rice also increased significantly.
“President Tinubu promised that his administration would work to improve food security, increase agricultural production and reduce pressure on the cost of living. Today, his administration is implementing various agricultural interventions, including fertilizer support, farm inputs and other programmes designed to support farmers and strengthen food production.
“Just recently, the Tinubu administration continued its agricultural interventions by supporting farmers with fertilizer and other inputs. Through these programmes, farmers are being supported to increase production and contribute to food security.
“Even you, members of the press, can be witnesses to some of these developments,” he said.
Uba said that the Tinubu administration had also recorded many achievements in infrastructure development across the country.
“When you travel along the Kano–Gaya axis, you can see ongoing infrastructure and railway construction. The administration is also implementing major road and infrastructure projects across different parts of the country.
‘The Federal Government has identified the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway and other major road projects among its ongoing infrastructure investments.
“We also recognise that Nigeria is still facing challenges, particularly insecurity. We are not saying that all the problems have been solved.
“But it is important for Nigerians to understand that this administration has continued to demonstrate commitment to confronting these challenges,” he said.
Uba blamed some of the critics of the Tinubu administration for using the challenges facing the country to criticize the government, inspite of its numerous achievements.
“We are also entering a political period, and naturally, opposition parties will use the challenges facing the country as part of their campaign messages.
“Look also at how APC governors are working together to confront some of the challenges facing the country. We believe this cooperation and coordination are important for national development.
“Before this administration, the story was different in many areas. Today, we are witnessing developments in roads, railways, agriculture, energy and other sectors. The Federal Government itself has highlighted major infrastructure projects across the country as part of its Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Our brothers and sisters from the North should also kindly remember the political history of Nigeria.
“Late President Muhammadu Buhari received significant political support from people across the Southern part of the country and completed his eight-year tenure. During that period, Nigerians continued to participate in our democratic process without making every political disagreement a do-or-die affair,” he said.
Uba appealed to politicians to base their arguments on facts rathan sentiment.
“Therefore, those making the slogan “Tinubu Must Go” should also go back and study our political history and avoid unnecessary sentiments. Nigerians have the right to support whoever they choose, but our political discussions should be based on facts, development and the future of our country.
‘Last but not least, let me assure Nigerians that we initiated the Tinubu Must Stay (TMS) movement long ago, before some of these current political developments and campaigns began.
“Our message is simple: we believe President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves the opportunity to continue with the programmes and projects of his administration.
“And to those who are still undecided or who oppose our position, we say: come and examine the records, the projects and the policies. Let us engage constructively and allow Nigerians to make their own informed decisions in 2027,” he said.
