NAF Bombs Over 100 Bandits in Katsina Community
The air component of Operation Hadarin Daji has successfully neutralized over 100 bandits during a night time air interdiction mission in Kuka Shidda area of Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The operation targeted a criminal group affiliated to a notorious terrorists kingpin, Yusuf Yellow and his close associate Rabe Imani.
“Over 45 motorcycles were also destroyed during the airstrikes,” Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to Katsina State Governor, said in a statement on Sunday.
“This is the third successful air raid in the Faskari-Kankara axis in recent times, significantly disrupting bandits activities in the area,” he added.
He also said that a swift response by the police thwarted a kidnap attempt in Jibia in the early hours of Sunday.
Ibrahim said a police patrol team in the area responded to a distress call regarding the abduction of some residents of Kwata area of Jibia at about 4:15 am.
“They arrived to find armed bandits holding three women captive. Acting swiftly, the team blocked the kidnappers’ escape route, leading to a confrontation. A gunfight ensued, pressuring the criminals to flee.
“Thankfully, all three kidnap victims – Ummulkhari Abubakar (23), Shafa’atu Abubakar (35), and Maryam Lawal (15) – were rescued unharmed.
“The team also ensured the safety of a six-month-old baby boy named Ismail Usman, who was among the abducted,” he said.
