APC Youths Condemn Agitation For Recall Of Yobe South Lawmakers

Yobe South APC Youth Forum has condemned calls by those it described as unpatriotic elements, agitating for the recall of lawmakers from the zone.
The Syndicate reports that some electorates in the zone had allegedly written to the Independent National Electoral Commission to commence the recall of three lawmakers.
They include Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Boma, Rep. Fatima Talba, and Ahmed Adamu BB, a member of the state assembly.
Yobe South Senatorial District consists of Fune, Fika, Nangere, and Potiskum Local Government Areas.
Briefing to journalists in Damaturu on the development, the Coordinator of the forum, Comrade Armayu Sulaiman Daya said the call was totally unacceptable, alleging that those behind the move were sponsored to distract the APC led administration in the state.
According to him, since the assumption of Governor Mai Mala Buni, Yobe State has witnessed tremendous social and infrastructural development, including youth engagement in governance.
“The so-called agitation for the recall of Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Boma, Hon. Fatima Talba, and Ahmed Adamu BBK is simply the handiwork of some enemies of development,” he added.
“We want to categorically state that since 1999 we have never witnessed such a development as being witnessed under our incumbent elected representatives.
“Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has facilitated numerous projects in Yobe South and they are there physically for anyone to verify.
“Some of them include 23 roads and drainages while others are under construction, provision of ICT Centers in public schools, street lights, water supply, a befitting orphanage home, youth empowerment, skills training for youths, employment, distribution of foodstuffs, provision of health facilities, distribution of cars to constituents, among other numerous projects.
“His projects are spread across the four Local Govenment Areas of the senatorial district.
“Hon. Fatima Talba, representing Nangere/Potiskum Federal constituency, has succeeded in promoting unity among the constituents as well as provided support to women groups, provided solar-powered boreholes, street lights, among other things.
“She has also through SMEDAN, facilitated the monthly payment of N50,000 to 1, 500 constituents,” Armayu said.
He also applauded the performance of Hon. Ahmed Adamu BBK, the member representing Potiskum central constituency for initiating projects that have not only touched lives but brought a fresh wave of governance to the state.
“He has sponsored more than 300 adolescent girls to acquire various skills at the vocational training center Potiskum, yearly fumigation of Potiskum wards to eradicate mosquito infestation, linking Bayan GG/ Garin Dala to the National grid, supply of transformers and electric poles to Yarimaram, empowerment and provision of palliatives to vulnerable people.
“The Honourable member has secured employment for various youths in his constituency. Liaised with Primary health care agency to tackle recent diphtheria outbreak, and the provisions of Solar Street lights in various Potiskum communities to tackle insecurity.
“He has also being paying school fees to students from poor families, providing boreholes through the state government and organizations, and liaising and luring construction of roads of great economic advantages to Potiskum constituency.
“The member helped vulnerable people with stipends and food items, provides submersible pumps to various water facilities within Potiskum constituency, and payment of monthly stipends to some cemetery guards within the constituency.
“Constant visitation to Primary health care centers and specialist hospitals for any action to be taken. Provisions of laterite sand to water-logged areas. Punctually performing his duties as committee chairman of sports.
Armayu said that the forum has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senator Bomai, Talba and Adamu BBK.
“On behalf of the entire Youth of Yobe South, we assure our continued support and loyalty to all our elected representatives irrespective of any difference and advise our detractors to fear Allah,” he added.
