APM STRENGTHENS ITS NATIONAL POLITICAL MOMENTUM AS MAKINDE, BALA MOHAMMED CHAMPION INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE AHEAD OF 2027

From Muazu Hardawa Bauchi

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has taken another significant step towards consolidating its national political influence ahead of the 2027 general elections, following a high-profile presidential campaign rally in Bauchi State, where party leaders presented a united front around a shared vision of national transformation, economic prosperity and inclusive governance.
The rally, held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, witnessed the gathering of party faithful, political stakeholders, supporters and prominent leaders who converged to demonstrate their commitment to the party’s growing political ambition.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the APM presidential candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, outlined his vision for a Nigeria where leadership is measured by performance, opportunities are accessible to all, and governance responds directly to the needs and aspirations of ordinary citizens.
Makinde emphasised that Nigeria’s present challenges require more than political promises, insisting on practical solutions, institutional reforms and courageous leadership capable of restoring public confidence in government.
He identified economic revitalisation, national security, social cohesion and equal opportunities as critical pillars of his proposed development agenda. According to him, the country’s future depends on building a political and governance structure that accommodates every Nigerian, regardless of ethnicity, religion, geographical location or political affiliation.
In a strong message on electoral responsibility, Makinde challenged Nigerians to protect the integrity of their votes, urging citizens to make independent political decisions based on credible leadership, competence and the ability of candidates to deliver meaningful development.
The occasion, Bauchi State Governor and APM National Leader, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, reaffirmed his determination to strengthen the party’s national standing and mobilise widespread support for Makinde’s presidential aspiration.
The governor described inclusive leadership, political fairness and social justice as indispensable ingredients for building a stable and prosperous nation.
He maintained that the APM was positioning itself as a credible political platform capable of bringing together diverse interests under a common development agenda.
Bala Mohammed also highlighted the party’s adoption of consensus arrangements in selecting candidates for various elective positions, describing the approach as a demonstration of political maturity, mutual understanding and collective responsibility.
He expressed confidence in Makinde’s leadership credentials, noting that his experience in public administration and commitment to development make him a formidable candidate for the task of national leadership.
The Bauchi campaign rally attracted the APM Vice Presidential Candidate, Lawan Daura, governorship candidates from Bauchi and Oyo States, alongside other national executives, party leaders and political stakeholders.
Their presence underscored the party’s determination to expand its political structures, deepen grassroots engagement and establish a formidable national presence ahead of the 2027 elections.
Beyond the campaign speeches and political declarations, the Bauchi gathering projected a broader message: the need for a governance philosophy that prioritises national unity, economic opportunity, institutional accountability and the welfare of citizens.
As the 2027 political season approaches, the APM leadership is seeking to translate its growing mobilisation into a compelling national movement built around purposeful leadership and sustainable development.
The Bauchi rally therefore represents more than a campaign event; it signals the party’s determination to make inclusive governance, political cooperation and national renewal central themes of its 2027 presidential ambition.
