Banditry in Kano LGAs: Governor Donates 10 Operational Vehicles, 60 Motorcycles To Soldiers
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their swift response to recent banditry attacks in parts of the state.
Governor Yusuf made the commendation while receiving the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad Wase, at the Government House, Kano.
He expressed appreciation to the military for their dedication and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing competent service chiefs committed to national security.
The governor announced the donation of 10 Hilux trucks and 60 motorcycles to the Joint Task Force operating in the affected areas and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies in combating banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling.
General Wase appreciated the governor for the gesture and assured that the military and other security agencies are working to ensure peace and stability in the affected areas.
He told the governor that he had visited troops in the affected areas to commend and encourage the gallant officers and men.
The Syndicate reports that troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation MESA, under the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, have killed 19 bandits who attacked three communities in Shanono Local Government Area of the state on November 1.
The communities were Ungwan Tudu, Ungwan Tsamiya, and Goron Dutse, where the Nigerian Army intercepted and decimated the criminals.
