Buni pledges more resources to address insecurity in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has pledged to commit more resources over the next two years towards sustainable security and development of the state.

The governor made the pledge in a statement by his media aide, Mamman Mohammed, issued in Damaturu.

He particularly noted the tremendous efforts of the Nigerian Army and other security services, as well as the vigilance and hunters groups for their resilience and commitment towards improving the security of the state.

“We should continue to cooperate and support the security agencies with credible and timely information to promote proactive approach to collectively fight insecurity.”

The governor also pledged more resources and energy to transform the agricultural sector and provide valuable infrastructural development across the state.

He urged the people to take advantage of the rainy season to massively engage in agriculture for food security and economic prosperity.

Buni however advised communities in riverine and flood-prone areas to be cautious and heed experts’ advice to avoid flooding.

He appreciated the the people of the state for their resilience, support and cooperation to government policies and programmes, which has inspired the administration to achieve more.

“l wish to dedicate the successes of this administration to your generous support and understanding. Together, we shall achieve more to improve the lives of our people,” the governor said.
