Gov. Radda Hails ‘Historic’ Appointment of Prof. Maikudi as UniAbuja VC5
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has hailed the historic appointment of Prof. Aisha Sani Maikudi as the 7th substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja.
Governor Radda noted the exceptional achievements of Prof. Maikudi, a distinguished indigene of Malumfashi Local Government Area, saying she has the capacity to excel.
“Prof. Maikudi’s appointment reflects not only her outstanding academic leadership but also showcases the intellectual capacity and educational excellence that Katsina State continues to contribute to our nation’s development,” he added.
It could be recalled that Prof. Maikudi was the acting Vice-Chancellor before the substantive appointment.
She had served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and was the university’s first female Head of Department, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law.
According to Radda , Prof. Maikudi’s elevation was an honour to Katsina State, and “a powerful example for aspiring academics across Nigeria”.
He said that the efforts of his administration to reform the education sector and promote girl child education will produce more outstanding academics and professionals for the country and at the and international level.
The Governor expressed confidence that under Prof. Maikudi leadership, University of Abuja will reach new heights of academic excellence, and innovation, and facilitate numerous benefits to the state.
