Defence Minister Drums Support For Military To Enhance Security In Nigeria

The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has called for robust support for the Nigerian military in its ongoing efforts to combat insecurity, targeted at restoration of smooth trade and business activities in the north and other parts of the country.

This was contained in a press statement made available to The Syndicate by the Personal Assistante to the minister on Media, Malam Mati Ali.

The minister made the call in Kano while speaking at the opening ceremony of the 45th International Trade Fair organized by the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KACCIMA).

“Peace and security is a cornerstone of and development of any society. Improving the security situation in the country will pave the way to enhanced economic prosperity,” Badaru added.

He reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to restoring peace and stability and urged Nigerians to continue supporting the government with prayers while maintaining confidence in the security forces, whose unwavering dedication is crucial to sustaining these achievements.

The minister commended KACCIMA for its dedication to organising the annual trade fair and reiterated that such initiative was essential to strengthening Nigeria’s economy.

Badaru emphasised the critical role of non-oil exports in achieving the nation’s diversification goals and called on all stakeholders to collaborate in harnessing Nigeria’s vast export potentials.
