DEPOWA President visits wounded soldiers in Kaduna

The President of Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Oghogho Musa , on Saturday donated consumables and relief items to sick and wounded soldiers on admission at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.

The DEPOWA President who is visiting to commiserate with the soldiers for the second time, said it was to encourage to regard their condition as a temporary set back, and Nigerians appreciate their sacrifices to the nation.

“Your sacrifices will never be in vain, and by God’s grace, I will keep coming. Some have been here for ten good years, they need visits, they need encouragement.

“These are people that have served this nation, because of them, we are able to stay here today. A lot of people are moving around and so they need encouragement, our support and presence.”

Mrs Musa urged Nigerians to pray for the wounded and active soldiers, and support them as they recuperate to return back to active life.

“They need total support, I know some of them are married, We pray that the good Lord will continue to help us to visit often,” she added.

Earlier, the acting Chief Medical Director, 44 Army Hospital, Brigadier General Godwin Ogoh, appreciated DEPOWA for their humanitarian intervention.

Ogoh said the wounded- in-action soldiers were brought from the  North-East and North-West regions for proper medical care.

“The wounded- in-action soldiers are people who stood firm for the nation and fought to ensure we are all one. We as a hospital will continue to give our best to see that they all recover,” he added. 3

Items donated by DEPOWA include among others consumables, blankets, detergents , toiletries and cash.
