DSS rescues abducted Kibiya LG Secretary in Kano State

The Department of State Services(DSS), has rescued the Administrative Secretary of Kibiya local government council, Alhaji Hamza Durya, who was abducted by kidnappers.

The state’s Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, stated this in a statement in Kano, saying that the DSS had also arrested two suspected kidnappers.
“The Kano State Government wishes to inform the general public of a significant breakthrough in the recent abduction of the Administrative Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Council, Alhaji Hamza Durya.
“The victim was abducted at his residence in Durya village, Kibiya Local Government Area. Following the unfortunate incident, security agencies in the State were immediately mobilised to ensure his safe rescue and to apprehend those responsible.

“In a swift and coordinated operation, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Kano State Command, successfully rescued the victim and arrested two suspected kidnappers who sustained bullet wounds during the operation,” Waiya said.

According to him, the State Government considers the feat as a welcome development and a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the security agencies operating in the state

“The Government commends the DSS and other security agencies for their prompt response and unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

“This achievement underscores the effectiveness of the ongoing security strategies being deployed to combat criminal activities across the 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.

“The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been commended for his continuous support and provision of necessary resources to security agencies, which has greatly helped in enhancing their operational capacity.

“While the Kano State Government is reassuring residents of its firm commitment to maintaining peace and security,the Government urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities to the nearest security outfits. Such cooperation is vital in strengthening the overall security architecture of the State.

“The Kano State Government will continue to work closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that Kano remains safe and secure for all,” he added.
