EFCC Arrests 3 Running Fake Medical Varsity Operating Under Trees

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have nabbed three suspects operating a fake University under trees and issuing degree certificates in medicine and other courses.

The three suspects, Olaniyan Joshua, Oyetunde Julius Akano, and Victor Oluwale, who are currently undergoing interrogation in the Commission, were arrested on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, in Abuja.

Apart from operating the fake University, the suspects also operate under the name, Mighty Infinity Millionaire Limited, falsely claiming to be the representatives of Q-net, a global e-commerce and direct selling company.

The suspects claimed that the university is affliated to Quest International University, Malaysia.

They charge between N1.2 million and N1.3 million as registration fees and run lectures under pavilions and trees in Gwagwalada area of Abuja.

The fake institution offers fake Bachelor of Science degrees in Medicine, Nursing, Cybersecurity, Computer Studies, and Geology, among others.

Earlier on March 24, 2025, the Commission had raided Q-net University at Compensation Layout, Gwagwalada, FCT, Abuja where it arrested 133 suspects.

The EFCC said Q-net has since denied any link with the suspects and their activities.
