El-Rufai visits embattled ex-Chief of Staff in prison
Saidu was said to have evaded arrest at his residence located in Coronation Crescent, but was pinned by security personnel of ‘Operation Fushin Kada’ at Rigachikun in Kaduna.
He was subsequently taken before a Magistrates’ Court in Rigasa on charges of money laundering and sale of 12 government houses.
After hearing the argument of the prosecution and defence counsel, Magistrate Muhammad Lawal Musa, ordered the remand of the former chief of staff at the Kaduna correctional facility till January 21.
During the visit, El-Rufai spent about 30 minutes at the correctional centre before leaving, accompanied by three former commissioners, Jafaru Sani, Hafsat Baba, and Ibrahim Hussaini.
Attempts to speak to the former governor was not successful as he kept mute and zoomed off in a Prado jeep.
