FMC Birninkudu CMD Bags Awards For Humanitarian Services

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Federal Medical Centre Birninkudu in Jigawa State, Dr. Adamu Abdullahi Atterwahmie has been inducted as a Fellow of the Humanitarian Institute for Peace and Community Development.

A statement by the hospital’s  Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Auwalu Yusuf, said that the Medical Director was inducted at a ceremony held in Abuja, alongside some state governors and other notable personalities.

The honour was in recognition of his contributions to healthcare delivery, peace-building and community services.

According to the statement, Dr. Atterwahmie, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, was also decorated as a Life Ambassador for Peace by the Legacy International Centre, Accra, Ghana, in collaboration with African Update International Magazine.

He was also recognised as the Humanitarian of the Year by HAFYDOF National during the organisation’s annual conference held in Dutse, Jigawa State.

The statement appreciated the recognitions and awards to the CMD, saying it underscores his tireless efforts, selflessness and unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, which have positively impacted many lives.

It said Dr. Atterwahmie remains committed to excellence in healthcare delivery, community development and continuous support for the less privileged.

The statement added that Dr. Atterwahmie’s leadership and vision have continued to inspire many within and outside the health sector, stressing that his contributions to community growth and development would remain indelible.

Describing the awards as a fitting tribute to his remarkable achievements, the statement expressed optimism that the recognitions would further motivate him to sustain his humanitarian initiatives and inspire others to emulate his selfless service to humanity.
