Ganduje emerges APC National Chairman, Basiru as Secretary
Former Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has emerged as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) while a former spokesperson of the 9th Senate, Senator Ajibola Basiru, became the party’s National Secretary.
The two were officially endorsed on Thursday to replace the immediate past National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore, who resigned.
The two positions were ratified by the APC National Executive Council at its meeting in Abuja, attended by President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Following the announcement of their appointments, supporters of Ganduje and Basiru broke into jubilation which temporarily disrupted the programme.
Among those at the NEC meeting were governors, pioneer chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande; acting National Chairman of the party, Senator Abubakar Kyari, among others.
