Gawuna formally joins ADC
By Editor
Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, former Deputy Governor of Kano State, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and received his membership card today in Gawuna Ward, Nassarawa Local Government Area of the State.
Gawuna had resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and also stepped down as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria ahead of this move.
He was personally received into the ADC by Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and was widely rumored to be Kwankwaso’s anointed governorship candidate for 2027.
He might face Gov. Abba Yusuf, who was Kwankwaso’s anointed governorship candidate for the 2023 Kano governorship election on the banner of NNPP, but recently left the party for the APC.
Gawuna’s entry is being seen as a major boost for ADC in Kano, with supporters already preparing to mobilize and actively participate in the party’s grassroots activities.
