Gov Idris awards N2.1bn roads, drainage contract in Birnin Kebbi
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has awarded contract for the construction of four access roads and drainage system in Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi.
The 2.145 kilometer roads project will be executed by B-Tech Global Investment Services Limited.
The state Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdullahi Umar Faruq Muslim said on Wednesday during the signing of the project agreement with the construction firm that the four roads would be completed in 18 months.
The Commissioner said Badariya is one of the most densely populated areas in the state capital, as such the additional roads would meet the needs of residents and commuters.
He told the construction firm to adhere strictly to the terms of the contract, warning that the government would not accept substandard job.
“The era of substandard projects in Kebbi State is over, His Excellency, Comrade. Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu, cherishes only top quality work,” he emphasised.
The Commissioner said government would release 40% of the project cost to the company as mobilization fees, urging it to move to site within two weeks.
“This project aligns with the administration’s commitment to grassroots development. It responds directly to the needs and aspirations of the people, reflecting the commitment of Governor Nasir Idris to positively impact lives,” he added.
Muslim said engineers from the Ministry of Works would closely monitor the project to ensure strict compliance to the contract terms.
Responding, Alhaji Bashar Shamaki, Director B-Tech Global Investment Services Limited, said they would abide by the contract termd and deliver within time.
