Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State on Friday handed over Certificate of Occupancy of 170 hectares of land for the new Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia.

The title document for the land was handed over to the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Minister of State, Education, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad.

The governor appreciated the minister for his commitment towards improving the quality of education in Nigeria and the prompt takeoff of the new university.

Sani highlighted some of his achievements in the education sector, including the reduction in the number of out-of-school children, and ensuring increased enrollment.

The governor assured that the state would continue to partner with the federal government to enhance the educational system.

He appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his consistent support to the government and people of Kaduna State, and Vice President Kashim Shettima for his support in the realisation of the institution.

In his remarks, the Minister expressed gratitude for the prompt approval and certification of the university’s land, and commended the state administration’s inclusive and people-centered approach to governance.

Alausa pledged to attract TETFUND intervention to ensure seamless take off of the university in Kachia, and to upgrade facilities in Kaduna State University, and Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya.

The Syndicate reports that the Federal University of Applied Sciences will commence full academic activities in September 2025.
