Governor Radda Appoints Ex-NBC Director Chairman Radio, TV Service Board
Governor Dikko Radda has announced the appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir, a retired Director of the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, as Chairman of the State Radio and Television Service Board.
The appointment was announced on Wednesday in Katsina by the governor’s spokesman, Ibrahim Kaulaha Mohammed.
Ahmed, a former teacher, is coming in with four decades experience in the media industry as a broadcaster, manager and regulator.
The new Chairman began his working career as a classroom teacher before joining Katsina State Television as Current Affairs Officer, where he rose through the ranks to become Manager News and Current Affairs.
He later joined the NBC where he became the Head, Public Affairs, and Zonal Director in Kaduna, Sokoto and Maiduguri zonal offices.
In between his stint at the NBC, Ahmed was appointed by late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, the then Governor of Katsina State, as the General Manager of Katsina State Television.
During the campaign for the 2023 general elections, Ahmed was the Director, Media and Publicity of the state APC Campaign Council, and Deputy Chairman of the publicity sub-committee of the governor’s inauguration.
