Gunmen abduct APC Organising Secretary in Kaduna

Gunmen have abducted the Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Alhaji Kawu Ibrahim Yakasai.

Reports said Yakasai, a former Chairman of Soba Local Government Area in the state was forcibly taken from his house in Yakasai village on Friday night.

Mohammed Lawal Shehu, Chief Press Secretary to Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, said the governor had directed security agencies to go after the abductors and rescue Yakasai unhurt.

Shehu said that the governor restated his administration’s commitment to the safety of lives and property of all residents.

He added that as part of the steps being taken to achieve security in the state, 7,000 vigilantes would be engaged to complement the efforts of conventional security agencies.
