The gunmen attacked Aboro on Sunday night and abducted the wife of the District Head, Harira, and daughter, Maryam.
As residents made attempts to rescue the victims, the gunmen shot one of the responders, Umar Abdullahi, and injured one Suleiman.
The attack on Aboro is the latest in the series of attacks and abductions in Kaduna State in spite of a purported agreement reached by government and security agencies with bandits to stop their activities.
Sources said on arriving in the community, the gunmen went straight to the residence of the District Head, Alhaji Shuaibu Suleiman Galadima where they abducted the two women at about 7:36 pm.
A resident who confirmed the development on Monday said efforts to track the gunmen and rescue the victims by the residents was not successful.
“As we followed them into the bush to try and rescue the kidnapped persons, the gunmen opened fire on us. Sadly, they shot dead one of our members, Umar Abdullahi, and injured another, Suleiman, who is currently receiving treatment at a hospital,” he said.
He added that the deceased had been buried according to Islamic rites.
There has been no official response yet to the attack.
Sanga is the home local government of the state Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe.
