Hamas political chief Ismail Haneyya assassinated in Iran

The Hamas leader was in Tehran to attend Pezeshkian’s swearing-in ceremony.

During the meeting, Haneyya briefed the Iranian President-elect on the latest political and field developments related to the war on Gaza.

The Hamas chief also expressed gratitude to Iran for its support of the Palestinian cause and people.

For his part, the Iranian president “emphasized his country’s firm position in standing by the Palestinian people.”

He also “wishes the Palestinian people and their resistance victory in their just battle against the (Israeli) aggression,” according to the movement’s statement.

“We are confident that this struggle will end with the final victory of the Palestinian people and the liberation of the Palestinian land, as well as the destruction of the Zionist regime,” Pezeshkian was quoted as saying.
