Jigawa APC fumes over anti party claims against defence minister

The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is angry with some members of the party who accuse Minister of Defence Badaru Abubakar of working against the interest of the party.
Badaru was accused of engaging in anti-party activities by those the party leaders in the state called “a faceless group.”
In a statement on Tuesday, the Jigawa APC Chairman, Aminu Sani Gumel, said those behind the group would be unearthed and punished accordingly, no matter their status.
According to him, the intention of those making the allegations is to throw the party into crisis.
He however said the party leadership would continue to monitor the situation as it investigates those involved for appropriate political and legal action.
“The Jigawa APC will never allow any misguided element to create discomfort or a scenario that may deter or interrupt the APC-led Government from delivering it’s campaign promises in Jigawa state and Nigeria in general”.
He added that the claims against Badaru “will be verified and an appropriate action will be taken against them”.
“The faceless group, that is not in any record of the APC headquarters, Jigawa state, have in their smear campaign labelled so many false allegation against our leader, a serving minister, including alleged anti-party activities. This is bad and unacceptable”
He also said the administration of Governor Umar Namadi “is a reflection and continuation of the immediate past state government led by Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar. The two leaders have the party’s confidence and regards of the highest esteem. Their reputation is sacrosanct to us and must be guarded jealously”.
Gumel therefore emphasised that the party “will use all necessary avenue within the ambit of law to fish out the group and its sponsors for appropriate political and legal action”.
