Jigawa CP receives NYSC Coordinator, decorates 241 newly promoted officers
The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, Mr Dahiru Muhammad, has received the state Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) on a courtesy visit to strengthen relationship between the police and the scheme.
SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated this in a statement issued on Thursday.
Adam stated that the CP had also decorated 241 newly promoted Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPsII) with their new ranks.
“The visit was aimed at strengthening the long-standing relationship between the police and the NYSC Scheme, especially in the areas of security of corps members, NYSC facilities, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence in host communities across the state.
“The State Coordinator appreciated the Command for its prompt response to security issues, consistent support, and the measures put in place to ensure the safety of corps members serving in the state.
“Responding, the Commissioner of Police warmly welcomed the NYSC State Coordinator and his team and assured them of the Command’s continued commitment to the protection of corps members and all residents of the State.
“The CP stated that the police would continue to work closely with NYSC officials and other security agencies to ensure the safety of NYSC orientation camps, places of primary assignment, and all NYSC activities in Jigawa State,” he said.
Adam added: “In a related development, the Command conducted the decoration ceremony of two hundred and forty-one (241) officers recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs II).
“The ceremony was held at the Command Headquarters, Dutse, and was presided over by the Commissioner of Police in the presence of senior officers of the Command, family members of the promoted officers, and well-wishers.
“While congratulating the officers, the CP described the promotion as a reward for their dedication, discipline, and hard work in the service of the Nigeria Police Force.
“He reminded them that their new rank comes with greater responsibility and warned them to carry out their duties with honesty, professionalism, and respect for the rights of all citizens.
“One of the newly promoted officers, ASP Fali Yohanna, expressed their gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for the opportunity and promised to justify the confidence reposed in them through improved performance and commitment to duty.
“The Jigawa State Police Command reassures the people of the State of its continued commitment to the protection of lives and property and to working with all stakeholders to maintain peace and security across the State.”
